Christopher Webb

If you ask Christopher Webb who he is, he will without hesitation say, “I am a visual artist.” And he is an artist. He is also a sought-after lecturer and educator.

Originally from Halifax, Webb studied painting under the tutelage of his grandmother, artist Madeleine Asprey. Webb graduated from Saint Mary's University with a degree in Political Science. He went on to create and implement the Career Starts Program as a Human Resources Consultant with the Government of Nova Scotia. Soon after, he realized that painting was his true calling and made a pilgrimage back to his ancestral homeland of Italy. He lived for one year in the remote Calabrian village of Amantea and then spent another eight months in Florence. Since his return he has committed himself to pursuing his passions.

His artwork can be found in public and private collections across Europe, North, and South America. He is currently on the rosters of Glance Gallery (Raleigh, North Carolina), Kipling Gallery (Woodbridge, Ontario) Rouge Gallery (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and the Secord Gallery (Halifax, Nova Scotia). He is an active member of the arts community and in 2006 was named the President of Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS – representing Nova Scotia's artists) He is also a founding member of Nova Scotia Cultural Action Network (NSCAN). He has recently been named to the Board of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.

Webb also leads Art & Cultural Excursions every spring to Italy with his partner Victoria Foulger. Webb currently resides with his daughter, Maddalena, in Prospect Bay, Nova Scotia. He recently completed construction on his oceanside studio/home where he teaches private art classes and can be found painting daily.
